Brockville Harbour (3)

It's an old city, by Canadian standards, although there is evidence of First Nations presence dated to 1450, although I'm sure they were here earlier than that. There was an English settlement in 1784.
Known as the "City of the 1000 Islands", Brockville is situated on the land which was previously inhabited by the St. Lawrence Iroquoians[5] and later by the Oswegatchie people.[6] Brockville is one of Ontario's oldest communities established by Loyalist settlers and is named after the British general Sir Isaac Brock.
American visitors are reminded that people and guns must be declared to customs.

Look at the ivy!

Yes, they uploaded in the wrong order! That said, this is the railway tunnel, which we went through during Gramma Camp Day 4, in August 2019.

Canada's first railway tunnel, opened in 1860.

Can you see her? She was sitting there, happily reading. We exchanged appreciation for the day, and I asked if I could take her photo!

This statue is a memorial to woman who suffer abuse.

There was only one duck, but lots of gulls!

Across the way, Morristown, New York.

McNair Island and Murray Island, just inside the Canadian border.

A beautiful walkabout, in the warm sun. A lovely trip. We've company for Thanksgiving, Saturday's Critters will resume next week! In the meantime, I've a turkey to get in the oven. First, coffee!
