Hops Vine, Raptor

Cinnamon and I headed down to the forest on Sunday. After collecting the memory cards, I noticed a broken tree.

I'm wondering if Papa Bear chased Booboo bear up the tree. I think Booboo bear climbed it. You can hear the bullfrogs in the frog pond.

The katydids are out! Katy was sitting on the Basil, beside the Russian Basil.

🐛 I think these are Eastern Comma caterpillars.

The Hops Vine has another guest. I noticed them, and each night they'd eat a section and move on as a group.

I was videotaping a helicopter, just for fun. I heard it coming over the treetops. You can see something below it. After the helicopter moved on, the other object came towards me. It was our local hawk, with what looked like a snake in its talons.

The helicopter looks like a toy!

Don't ask which kind of raptor, they fly by all the time REALLY, REALLY fast! They seldom land. I have to be lucky and ready. This little one visited us in August, 2023.

The cats are doing their indoor duty.

Beryl dumped a ton of rain on us. It is hard to fathom, this massive storm rolling up the continent carrying so much rain. More rain today. Floors are washed. Let's see what I can get up to today!

I was surprised Beryl moved so fast up the US to Canada. Left lots of water behind, and a few tornados. Glad you didn't get them too!

We had and are having plenty of rain, but I am told that the heaviest rain was just a little farther south. Of course, you are south of CP.

I'm always excited to hear about your bears and bullfrogs. We're hearing cicadas here, but we are not in an area that's getting the big outpouring of them. We got some rain and cooler temps from Beryl, but it's beginning to heat back up here.

i was really thinking about your comment, i have always felt i was a person who any 1 could get along with ...but in my later life now 46 i feel like making new friends is just so darn difficult. i know you are never gonna get folks to like you ... and like if they don't like you for whatever kind of person you are they don't deserve your life, your time your whatever. kind of talking to myself as well ...but the kid in me .. i was bullied to extreme ... apparently my hubby was lucky enough to never have a problem. so when i speak about it ... i can still get to the point of ... how it felt as kid ... i mean why the hell wouldn't u like Beth ... i mean i love just about any1 i can find the coolness in them so easily. i am tired of folks looking at you immediately and judging you ... rubs me the core ... i don't get it. i use to think it was all women, like women judging women ...but men do it too. i guess for me .. go figure .. i am the one going girl if you wanna rock the pjs in public ... u go. i would never do it. don't think it is wrong just would never do it, my parents raised me otherwise i can't change it. so like the other weekend, i stayed in my pjs all day, i never do that, maybe it take time, maybe it is learning into an older age. but i still don't get the judging thing. like when u see kids ... it is interesting to see how much they are judging already at such an early age. my mom says it changed because of the big sickness ...that kids don't know how to socialize but i don't agree ...i think our parents are teaching differently ... when some1 says hi ... just being friendly doesn't mean they want any thing, it is just a greeting. doesn't mean they like you, hate you or whatever ... i wish i could have a t shirt saying that ... i just wanna make it through life and be friendly. i find it to be such a struggle. and here i thought it was tough in school. but i wonder if adult life is more difficult??! like when u did use to go to the grocery store you would say hey, how it is going or whatever kind of chatting ... just being friendly. now it never happens. so i try to be friendly first ... but then you get the kind of gruff look or response like it takes to much effort to even go there. what the heck? who pooped in your Cheerios ... makes you wonder? oh well, thanks for listening .. i am encourager always have been even for myself but it gets lonely. i mean husbands are great but sometimes it is nice to have a friend or 2. why i always say if you can find one ... hold on to them and respect them for their uniqueness, because some folks don't have the similar friendship time. have a great rest of your week. take care. LOTS of caterpillars. I hope Beryl doesn't cause any grief.

Beryl certainly has been a massive storm.

All the best Jan

Oddly enough we haven't gotten a drop of rain in 3 days! So Beryl left us alone and gave our area a dry spell...hot and humid, but still dry.

That actually was a relief for us.

Rainy days are good for cleaning.

Love the offerings the cats leave you.

I don't think I've ever seen a katydid. I wonder how they got that name.
