Wintry days

Friday, we had some snow to clear.  About 11 cm.

The trees were snow-covered, but rather than losing branches, the snow blew off in the wind during the day. That was excellent.

Nutmeg decided to go out. She didn't last long. The middle deck isn't shoveled, and it is up to her shoulders!

The sun rose, and we saw blue sky.

Deer hang out together in a winter yard. They come to our yard, visit, and then disappear for the day. I love how wary they are. When another deer approaches, they all look in their direction!

Friday was a strange day for weather. After doing the driveway, a nice, hot shower, we had graupel! Little snow pellets.

I love seeing your deer. So exotic compared to my squirrels. ;-)

At least the graupel won't stick to the trees' branches. Glad the wind cleared them. Love seeing your deer...whether in videos or these great photos!

I have never heard of graupel, very interesting. Great photos and lovely snowy scenery with those pretty deer and birds.

I was just as glad to see fresh snow to hide some of the old stuff. We had another dusting overnight.

Excellent wind indeed. Preserving your tree branches. And of course I always enjoy seeing the dear. I am writing poetry again and thank you for your kind comment! You may like to use a i, Google's Gemini is the one I use. You think about what you want to write about, including any words or phrases you want to use and ask as specifically as possible for the AI to write the poem for you. What it produce is really not good poetry but you look at everything there and you get inspired and you use some of it. And there are several different versions it does for you. So I use what it produces, change words around and trash most of it. And that gives rise to these poems I'm doing now. Which legally are considered my own creation and can be copyrighted.

...no graupel here, just fluffy lake effect flakes!

I've never heard of graupel either. That's cool! I'm sure we must have had them in Illinois but just didn't know the name for it.
