I decided to go walkies on Saturday. Snowshoes are required, although with the 5 cm of ice on top of knee-deep snow, it is hard slogging. The wetland is wet on the edges. I did cross it, as it is hard in the middle.
All I did was go to the back 40, at first. I had to come back to the house for water, but I didn't want to take off my snowshoes, as it is tricky bending over and all. I unzipped my boots! Using the railing, I managed to get up the steps without getting a soaker.
Filling up my water bottle I attached it to my fanny pack, and grabbed my phone. I popped on a pair of shoes to make it down the steps. Eureka!

I must get dressed and take out the garbage. Then morning coffee! Have a good one...

walking with coyotes -- sort of. 😊
The snowshoeing sounds fun!
Love the kitty images and the tree sparrow.
Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.

Good exercise, I'm sure! YAM xx
You get so much good exercise.
It's hard for me to imagine snow and ice enough to require snowshoes, so I'm loving your photos and videos.
Ah, that deer antler must have some wonderful scent for a cat to enjoy! As long as he doesn't decide it must contain something edible...or perhaps could be a play toy! Not likely! Just read AC's quandry about garbage pickup. Ah ha...the blogland fairy strikes again, sprinkling blog topics on you both!
Oh I have never been snowshoeing before.
You certainly had a work out. Not surprised that the cats decided to pass.
Before I start, I keep forgetting to say how much I love your home in the header shot. It looks incredibly pretty with all the snow. Great videos and photos. Seeing you walk in those snowshoes was very interesting, not having done this before but seeing enough movies from up north to know it's the only way to get around in parts. Fun shot of them at the bottom of the steps. Very cute photo of Cinnamon. I liked the sparrows too and come to think of it I haven't seen any out back lately. Have a super week Jenn!
...no snowshoeing here, enjoy!
Today there is no snow to be seen. My snowshoes and cross country skis are mostly unused for years. Well, I think I had the snowshoes out twice last year. I have great memories of snow about 20 years ago.
That's a great idea about taking off the boots instead of the snowshoes. The cats look most contented!
