Saturday, Dec. 17th Crumbly Acres! <= Read the backstory here!
We knew more was falling overnight. I did not know how much. It looked so bad Saturday morning. I've a lot of work to do. The trees are crumbling. (It snowed last night, again. Just a bit. )
By Saturday morning we were down to 447 outages across the province and 14,257 households without power. Then, people woke up and reported the outages.
I did a short reconnaissance, not wanting to venture into the forest. Tree branches were falling all over the place.

The trees looked so sad.
Guinivere was snow covered.
The sun was pinky where the clouds were diffusing. I kept getting distracted from my work.
I stopped here, to check out the satellite dish. Sure enough, not good. I could only see half of it.
I made it to the road. It wasn't too bad with the snowblower.

I worked hard to get the driveway done. I feel better knowing we can get out. The soccer game was on at 10 a.m., and I had to clear off the satellite dish. The long-handled saw worked quite well. We didn't have any reception at all. I wasn't sure, so I stomped up the steps, poked my head in the door and asked JB. We were good! And the sun came out!
It was hovering around zero, rose to 5 in the sunshine. Great big clumps of snow dropped all day. Sometimes on my head.
After I was done all that, I had to go around and shake off the snow as best I could.
The blue sky was terrific.
The climbing trees are a mess.
Sadly, this will take some time and energy. The sun came out Sunday. Indoors, we watched soccer. My plan was to begin with the sumac Sunday afternoon.

Well, it sure loooks pretty. I see that our lilac bush did break. It wasn’t in good shape anyway.

Truly a winter wonderland... it transforms the landscape, does snow like that. I don't envy you the work it induces though! YAM xx

You really got clobbered. I'd be hesitant to walk under those snow laden branches. Pretty to look at, from AZ.
Busy, busy times ahead. I am glad that you could watch the soccer. The combination of snow and sun is beautiful isn't it?
Oklahoma would be paralyzed statewide with that kind of snow.

As beautiful as the snow is it involves so much work doesn't it.
Looks like you got all the snow that was predicted for down here. We had a few flakes.
Heavy wet snow can do a lot of damage to trees.
I do hope all your trees survive with as little damage as possible. I've read on the long range forecast that the end of this week is going to be weather nasty & already the powers to be are saying - make alternative travel plans as in don't go! We are also told to be prepared for power outages. Happy Christmas from Mother Earth - we haven't been good to her. BUT, having said that, it does look pretty when you don't have to go out in it.
It does look beautiful.
We've had some very frosty days but no snow, although some parts of the UK have.

Wow! So much snow! It is beautiful to look at, and I'm glad you posted the photos and videos. I hope the tree damage is minimal.
Power outages are the hardest part of any storm around here, and weather like yours slows repairs. I hope everybody gets their power back soon.
The trees look lovely, but the snow must cause a lot of problems!
