"song of the white-throated sparrow, old Sam Peabody, Peabody, Peabody!"
Deer friend: You can't see me!
These wood ducks were behind the house, down the hill, on the wetland. I've had ducks check out the boxes. This is a female in the nesting box.
Phoebe's nest looks ready, but no sign of action.
The barred owls are about. One left me a beautiful feather.
Then, the garter snakes.
Not one, but two rose-breasted male grosbeaks. The females arrive later, they tell me.
Flickers have appeared on the lawn, trying to grab a bug or three.
Can you see the other bees? The one wasn't budging, and they stayed away.
Boys of spring!

Oh, my. Now it looks like real spring has arrived. I don't think I have ever seen a white throated sparrow -- atleast knowingly.
It has definitely sprung at your place.
The sparrow is quite pretty.
Birds, bees, daffodils, green beauty -- wonderful Spring!! Thank you for sharing it ...would love to see a rose-breasted grosbeak someday IRL>
The sparrow is a cute one. It's looking good for your wood duck nesting boxes. - Margy
How wonderful!
We are expecting more spring migrants this month.
You have the prettiest birds in your area. That is definitely the prettiest sparrow I've ever seen. It's so very different from the usual brown ones.
