Talent show

Isabelle, roadie, during Wednesday rehearsals!
My daughter is a hydrogeologist, a scientist, with her M.Sc. I am very proud of her!

They has a talent show. There were four groups. They rehearsed every Wednesday night. Caitlin took the girls with her, and they'd help set up the equipment. Papa would arrive home from work on the bus, and take them home to their dinner, and evening activities.

Held at Barrhaven's Greenfields Gastro Pub, it was a busy spot. (My softball team visited here often, back in the day!)

We went and sat at the bar until we could be seated. There was a friendly drunk at the bar. Happily, they sat us pretty much on time. Caitlin had been there since 4:30 setting up equipment.  JL's job was to fetch the kids from day care, give them a snack and haul them on over. The parking lot was packed!

The servers were amazing, I sent them an email saying so.

It was crazy busy. "Doors opened" at 5:30, when they closed up a teacher retirement party. How ironic!

Josee took some photos. I gave her my camera, where she had a ring side seat!

Momma and Papa brought sound mufflers for them. I sat up front for a bit to take photos of Caitlin. Pap took them home after Momma's set. We got tired and left after the third group, the cats were happy to see us.

They knew a lot of these old songs.  It was so much fun seeing these young people up there on the stage!

At one point, the band does the song Peaches, by The Presidents of the United States, which mentions 6 ninjas. Six kids of band members got together and did a Ninja rumble!

Caitlin has an excellent voice, if I do say so myself. She spent years in choirs, and learned the flute, playing it all through high school, and taking instrumental music. She has a good ear.

Izzy, who turned 8 on Monday, had fun with the battery-operated candle. What a character! I had to videotape here doing her candle trick, at her request!
