A lovely celebration: Festival of the Maples in Perth.

2016          mm      CM
JAN. 30.7 18
FEB 38.9 54
MAR 121.4 mm rain
April 15 cm snow

April 26 - a titch of snow! P'raps I was premature putting the goldfish out in the pond!

April 25 - Something is coming

April 22

April 19

Dodged a bullet! Still have power. Clear skies.
From local officials: Pole fire on Golf Club Rd. near SF reason for outage. Restored minimum 11 am. More than 10K customers affected.
Fire ban in effect.

April 17 Holy smoke! It was 23 C. today!

April 12 Hail in the late afternoon

April 11

That's a bit of a shock. We'd lost all of our snow cover. It's back. I'd say about 10 cm. Grumpy cats, with more precipitation on the way.

April 10 Uh, oh!

April 8th

It's snowing on the crocus, daffy and tulip foliage!

What a range of temperatures!

poor wee bulbs!

April 7th 6 cm snow!

That was a night. We began with snow around noon. It ended with rain this morning. I don't know how much. Even though I couldn't sleep at midnight, and I knew the snow was transitioning to rain, I did NOT get up out of bed to clear the snow from the rain gauge in order to know how much rain. Suffice to say the bird bath is overflowing!

April 6th

They say we're in for snow. They were quite poetic about their inability to predict the moving situation!

The winds, clouds and consequent weather we will simply have to deal with.

That said, we are scheduled to have the snow tires removed and new summer tires put on the car!
"There is still some uncertainty regarding the exact track of the low which will affect the location of the heaviest snow. Hence, 10 to 15 cm of snow is not completely out of the question in a few localities. "

April 3rd –freezing morning at -10 C.

I have had to drain the water barrel. The goldfish and frog ponds freeze and thaw in the sunshine.

April 1st - No joke, lots of rain

The poor Maritimes has snow. The clouds working their way up the continent, will likely be forced off what with this Polar Vortex that is anticipated next week.
The good news is that Maple Syrup producers are having a banner year, after a bad one last year.

Hello, our April started off dry and ended with rain. So, I guess I should not complain. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!

April certainly was a changeable month for the weather. We had a bit of everything. May is starting out with rain, which is really needed.
