Thanksgiving 2014

Floors washed, carpets vacuumed. Table was set, it's actually a shower curtain, but I like it!
The pie was taste tested by 'Joe Pie'; no yeast, dairy or eggs, a special order from his buddy, Kelly.
The kids set their smart phone to let me know when they would arrive. They use the GLympse app. It's cold enough that we can use the outdoor refrigerator, with a little ice.
JL had a bit of work to do, he took a break and took the girls outside. They are reading The Hobbit to the girls. One chapter a night at bedtime. This was a special read outside on our bench! Then they climbed the big pine tree.
Grampa bought a sweet 'Close Eyes' for the girls. The package included a crown! Both girls did some crafts.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I did lunch with friends- pizza as opposed to turkey, but we did have pumpkin pie.

that's a great way to have fun at Thanksgiving. Now the shower curtain table cloth???The pension check just wouldn't go far enough for a new cloth???

I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving with your family. You've certainly been very busy getting everything ready for it. I love the shower-curtain improvisation. It's not so very far away from the sponge-down oil-cloth that I use every day. It's great that your little ones are being introduced to Tolkien in print rather than on screen. The movies are great, but nothing beats the books. All the best, Bonny
