Mayor John Fenik says it’s time to get big trucks off the streets of Perth and get a highway bypass back at the top of the agenda.
Fenik told councillors last night he believes Lanark County will support the town in efforts to build an arterial road, adding he’s never seen so much support for the project. But, he says, it needs a buy-in from both the county and the province.

Then, at the Remembrance Day ceremony, you could clearly hear more trucks than the last post. It was most disconcerting.

Oversized loads are common in Alberta with stuff being sent to the oilsands. It's fabricated in China and sent to northern Alberta.

I hope something is done about it, Jenn. It looks like an accident looking for a place to happen.

I have such mixed emotions about these loop roads. It is good to help with busy traffic but also kind of signals the end to the 'slower' pace of the old days. W.C.C.
