My silly knee; Balderson, Clayton, Tatlock

Sunday, April 2nd, was a sunny day. We decided to take a bit of a drive. I'm still having issues with my injury.

People have been so sympathetic with my silly knee.

Thank you! It wasn't much of a bruise, from falling on the ice, but quite sore.

I've been icing it, I've been to physio and she stretched and massaged it. She told me I hurt the rectis femoris, which goes from the thigh down the leg to work the knee cap.

I haven't done anything to the bones. Thankfully. She was very thorough, checking my range of motion, watched me walk, and do leg lifts, measuring my motion with a giant protractor. The math teacher in me found it quite interesting.


I knew I'd been favouring my left leg.  Since that time, my right foot has been inflamed by my tenosynovitis. did it in 2011 to my right foot, where the sheath around the tendon in the upper foot swells and becomes painful. I have to learn my lesson, and slow down when the pain comes. Then: foot up, ice it, and take it easy. Hence, a nice drive.

Meantime, back to our trip. First to Balderson for some cheese. 

These two were patiently waiting. The one seemed older, and, perhaps, blind.

Then we hit the road.

This area has several gravel pits.

It's maple syrup season. There was many cars parked here at this sugar shack.
Then, the red bluebird boxes!


I'd heard that there were River Otters and Trumpeter Swans in Clayton. That was stop #2.
None of the above, but rushing water and Canada Geese. I love the deep blue water!


Several deer feeding by the side of the road.


Then up to Tatlock Rd., and home. The rivers are flowing freely. I love seeing this farm as we come around the corner. Nestled into the hills, with the cool barns.
The blue skies were most welcome. We have a couple of rainy days ahead.
