We had to turn off the news on Tuesday. I fear for my US friends. The impact on Canada has been terrible. We're not in as bad a condition as come countries, and we cannot complain.
I'm not done with out studio tour, but I want to save some photos. Plus, the season is moving on, and I wanted to update it all. It's a bit chilly out there.
The last of the flowers!
In summer, so much foliage, but it is all done. The leaves were dead, and the birds had harvested the wee seeds.
First big clean up. It was brown and crumbly.
I've been busy. These saplings had to be taken out. They aren't good for the foundation. I got dirt in my eyes, and in my bra, and even my helper/supervisor, Cinnamon, disappeared with the dirt that was flying.
I've been watching this tree. Just after I took the previous photo, 4 geese flew by. It could have been an amazing photo!!
Yard clean-up continues. I think I've got some blackfly bites for my efforts. Silly bugs. The thermometer fluctuates, a hot day Saturday, they say. We carry on.

Hello,
Love your pumpkins and fall colors, we only have small bits here and there.
We are being overrun with stink bugs right now, they are awful.
Take care, have a great day!
For the sake of my mental health I've had to start cutting out news too. I watch the CTV Ottawa until the first weather report comes on, then turn off the tube.
It's a nice cool day, I hope to get some yard work done too.We are busy chopping the ivy off the house at the moment. We're afraid it will hold ice and snow under the eaves.
Loved the geese with the tree colors! Laughing about where all the dirt flew too!
I laughed at "they are in such a rush to be first." That's a common sight here. It happened to Rick and me the other day when he was driving me to the doc -- and not on a highway, but a city street. We ended up at the light at the same time. I hope they felt good about that.
Not good news about the pumpkins!!! JG is trimming the yews across the front of our place; same problem as you point out. Roots in the foundation.
The rain shortage is hard on the land, but the fine weather is a bonus.
I have to do some garden cleanup this weekend.

The phone stand is mighty fine... and the new header shot is too! YAM xx
Good job getting those saplings out, Cinnamon didn't want to help? Ha ha ha, a nap probably sounded like a better plan.
I had an over abundance of pumpkins this year so I am taking my extras and giving them to a friend who is decorating with them for her son's fall wedding.
As for the US. Eeek gads. My renters are from Great Lakes Naval Station. I hope they don't go too long without pay.
The orange person is nuts, I cannot believe where this country has gone in such a short time.
You do well to shield yourself from the news. The United States has changed forever, I fear. The country is morphing into something we could never have imagined.
I like the phone stand. It's still so warm here. It's October, it has to cool down soon, I hope.
The leaves sure are pretty. Love the shot with the geese. If only I had seen the phone stand earlier, I just bought an ugly old plastic one. These are beautiful. We live in the town where Libbys cans pumpkin. When I went out to the store earlier, I thought a cattle truck had gone by, but sadly, it's the plant fumes. I'm glad it doesn't last all. year. :)
I can't believe the things that are happening in this country and even though I stay aware I cannot watch the news all day long. My brother who lives north of Edmonton was actually very happy to be going back home yesterday after visiting us. Canada and the US are strong countries. We have survived much in the past and I'm confident we will survive this noxious fool. Enjoy your beautiful life and thank you for posting, Jenn
Nice clean up. I'm glued to news...trying to find out what is next.
Every day brings something different in the fall.
Sorry for my late comment... No WIFI here today. I can only imagine all that has to be done to prepare for the Winter months. Not so much around here. My only thing that really has to be taken care of is to cover the pool...done! and move the pot plants into the greenhouse. It is still in the low 90's so no rush on this. Don't over work..Enjoy all the critters looking for their place before Winter.
I have turned off the news and have decided to hide my head in the sand for a little bit, it's either that or an ulcer! Loved all your photos and reports on Crumbly Acres. Thanks so much Jenn, takes me away to look at your lovely property.
JJ will be coming over this afternoon to help me with a few garden chores as we wind it down for the long winter.
