Mushroom murder!

Fun story: this is a group of wee, grey toadstools. A nice little line. They like the PH levels under the pine tree. Every single mushroom is knocked over. It's happened before. I called it Mushroom Murder!

I know who I blame! They left another deposit on the deck!

Here is proof!

This was 2012. Aster inspecting the fungus on the dead roots. Aster is in gr. 11 and taller than me!

Here is a gnarly tree I found on my forest walk.

Funny what AI 'hears!' We asked the TV thing to find us a TV show:  "Border Interceptors," a reality show from Ireland, like Border Security. Instead, it brought up an ad for 'bed bug interceptors.' One really has to enunciate!

The driveway in all its glory...

Autumn chores, I sprayed painted the purple pencil! It looks so much better. Also, I scraped and repainted my bell.

Last two roses for this year... the frost is on the glass outside. Farewell summer, sleep well gardens. See you on the other side!

Crumbly Acres

We had to turn off the news on Tuesday. I fear for my US friends. The impact on Canada has been terrible. We're not in as bad a condition as come countries, and we cannot complain.

I'm not done with out studio tour, but I want to save some photos. Plus, the season is moving on, and I wanted to update it all. It's a bit chilly out there.

The last of the flowers!

In summer, so much foliage, but it is all done. The leaves were dead, and the birds had harvested the wee seeds.

First big clean up. It was brown and crumbly.

I've been busy. These saplings had to be taken out. They aren't good for the foundation. I got dirt in my eyes, and in my bra, and even my helper/supervisor, Cinnamon, disappeared with the dirt that was flying.

I've been watching this tree. Just after I took the previous photo, 4 geese flew by. It could have been an amazing photo!!

I bought myself a new phone stand. It was to support a Canadian author (Book Review: Jean Paetkau) and her husband. Jean's been managing cancer and her husband, Jason, creates these at Moonstone Woodworks. The pieces separate, and are cleverly shipped flat from B.C.

They are in such a rush to be first.

Perth:

There are some shortages of pumpkins this year, what with the drought. I share mine with the critters. Although, I haven't seen a deer in weeks!

Yard clean-up continues. I think I've got some blackfly bites for my efforts. Silly bugs. The thermometer fluctuates, a hot day Saturday, they say. We carry on.

North Frontenac Studio Tour: the prep

We had a plan, to visit the North Frontenac Studio Tour. We had a family meeting, after Joe researched the various locations and artisans on the tour. I love maps created by artistic people. They aren't to scale, it's a bit of a crap shoot, as distances aren't exact!

It was good to get out, see the leaves, and the lovely work the artisans do. Besides all that is going on in the world, we've a chimney and deck to be repaired. We couldn't listen to the news, as we'd taped the women's rugby game.

We had to prune the list, as this was a long drive, concentrating on the right-hand section.

I went to Google on my laptop, then sent the link to my phone.

I have issues reading the Google Maps App, as well as navigating it. One click and everything disappears, or a new app comes up! Our old, outdated GPS (AKA Gillian) helped some.

There was a problem, as the bright clouds messed up the photos.
Using the AI tools, I managed to get rid of those horrid Hydro lines.
Perth was spectacular for colours!

A newly planted orchard on Scotch Line Road.
The red roof compliments the maple trees!

Red asked for more leaves, so here you are. There is more to come. It's such a short and iffy season. I was worried our drought would affect it, not so.

Home again, home again, jiggety jig

We drove to Almonte, this is the trip part 2. The geese are rehearsing...

More Autumn colours!

Home, at last!
