Saturday's Critters

I have moved a trailcam. A doe went leaping by.

This is a lovely silk scarf, in the heat of the day it keeps the bugs off of my shoulders.

My cap captures the deerflies.

Cinnamon sticks to the back deck. Ain't no flies on us! Ne nestled himself in beside the goldfish plant.

Cat on Deck! This isn't our cat. It's been an infrequent visitor. Thankfully.

  Black squirrel! (Not #75, I don't think!)

Fred runs! Fred was caught on video running up the driveway. I turned the camera the other way to try see where she is going. Pffft. I turned it some more yesterday. I still don't know where she is going.

Bear July 15th, he even rattles the camera. You can hear him snuffle.

I love how Fred is decapitating the buds for fresh delicacies! I think my walking is much like a porcupine these days...so I perhaps shall think of other qualities they have. Bristle at being disturbed!!

Do you pick off the flies at some point or toss the hat?

We have yet to purchase a trailcam (or three), but there is a lot of nighttime traffic through our yard, judging by tracks and other unexplained things like, after the night I was alone in the house and heard what sounded like something making the furnace-oil tank go "bong!", Farmbeau came home from Calgary and thinks there were lick-marks from a larger-than-a-raccoon's tongue. So we will buy some when we get around to it (gawd knows when). You are experienced with them; do you recommend any brand or type in particular? Advice welcome.

I sure need the cap with strip for deer flies. And the silk scarf is gorgeous. I wear long sleeves when I have a problem. I hiked this week though and didn't have bugs bother me. Maybe it was too hot for them! lol Love your photos and videos. Hugs!

You have the best trailcam photos!!
I don't miss deerflies. We had them in Utah when I was a kid and they would cause my hands to swell up something terrible.
Your are really rocking that silk scarf

Hello Jenn :)
Your video captures are great, the bear dear, porcupine and super images of Fred. Your cap works so well at keeping deer flies off your head and your gorgeous silk scarf keeps them off your shoulders. This is all new to me, I was amazed to see so many flies on your cap.
Another enjoyable critter filled post.
All the best
