Fred and miniFred have still been around. They are incredibly wary. Recently, I haven't seen the fox in the daytime, which is good news. Can you see them behind the lilac tree?! I was afraid to move before taking a photo, but they both stuck around.
I could hear a loon, as well. There are people following the loon family on the lake. These are from days when I was able to canoe, or wandered about.
Not so bad birding from the back deck! Thing is, there is the highway out this way, and no water for perhaps 500m.
They have marvellous songs.
I took a walk. The black-billed cuckoo was calling. Or so I think, as does Merlin! I cannot find it, just follow it along the edge of the wetland. Joe can't hear it, I can't spot it! The sound is really interesting.

I'd be wary too, if there was a fox hanging around my stomping grounds!
We have a loon that occasionally flies over from the mill pond behind us to the pond across the road. It is always calling.
The Fred family needs to be careful.
We saw either mergansers or grebes on the Mississippi yesterday.
Fred better be on the lookout for the fox.
Love the Loon images.
I heard a Yellow-billed Cuckoo called today. I would like to see the Black-billed Cuckoo. Take care, have a wonderful day!
Yikes, they must have got a serious scare!
The video made me feel dizzy, but I loved all the bird calls.
