That was a peculiar day Monday. Just when you thought the rain was done... We had 5 mm in the morning and 18mm in the afternoon. Very exciting watching the lightning as it just hammered down. Just before the second storm arrived, I figured I'd best shower just in case we lost power. Life with well water and septic!
The fishies were happy with the rain water. It drains from the eaves into the water barrel, and then into the pond.
The day before, Nutmeg was supervising Fred! Fred was on the patio stones when I peeked over. She hustled under the deck. Nutmeg just sat and watched her.
The deerflies are quite active. I like these deerfly patches. They circle your head, then land on the back of it. Gotcha!

We got 83mm of rain. Everything is so saturated. I didn't get out pulling weeds yesterday (due to rain) and man oh man, the garden needs lots of attention today.
All this time, and I never realized that the pond was that close to the house.
Deer flies are the worst. I'm glad you have an effective solution to keep them off your skin.
We have had no rain here and things are getting very dry. Nutmeg is so cool.
This is the goldfish pond, A/C! Right out front. The frog pond, where the bears roam, is about 100m down the hill, and beyond a meadow.
Nutmeg is an excellent supervisor too! Linda in Kansas
Well, everybody seems to be having a lot of rain -except us! So I watered the porch plants and the balcony plants every other day. That’s great that that old tree finally came down.
The fish look happy :)
All the best Jan
The long life of tree. What a story this tree could tell.
Yikes. Everything looks healthy but that's a ton of rain -- and it brings out the bugs in force!
