I read in a blog post about Pussytoes! Seriously! We have this all over our 'lawn!'
My basket is doing well. Snuggled by the house, I guess.
The goldfish pond is full, again. It's just too cold to put out the fishies, though.
Last week we drove to the city for Mother's Day. I was reminded of this image from last September. I knew it was an overpass.

Dwyer Hill Training Centre (Ottawa Citizen, 2023)
This is a top secret training centre. Apparently, they need more facilities. To the tune of $1.4 billion! There is some controversy, as the centre was going to move to Trenton. Not any more!
Defence Minister Anita Anand announced Tuesday the initiative to construct 23 new buildings at the Dwyer Hill Training Centre or DHTC. The centre is home to the Canadian Forces special forces unit Joint Task Force 2.
Both #75 the squirrel, and Fred and her 2 kits are doing well. #75 doesn't seem inclined to move on at all. I don't blame him, it's been cold! He's been here a week, and has moved up and down his tree. I think the hay in his nest box is nice and cozy.
He gets a cup of seeds every morning! (Not by me!)
I'm trying to figure out what he is doing here. Fungus? Lichen?
Phoebe's eggs should hatch the next week. They are keeping the 5 wee eggs warm!

...I love bleeding hearts and number have volunteered in our garden.
So much going on there! What about the frogs? Still too cold for them to make an appearance I would imagine.
I’m in Chicago right now. My granddaughter’s favorite stuffed animal “friend” Freddie is a frog. I love your Fred. It’s so lovely to enjoy spring again although today, it’s COLD and rainy.
I love all the flowers!
Loving your garden. And the critters. #75 seems to feel he is at home. Which is lovely.
#75 is a real surprise to me. He must love that box.
my phoebe built a magnificent nest over our much used side door, then decided the shed looked more peaceful.
Lovely spring happenings!
Should #75's seeds be placed farther away from his box home? Wonder what the wildlife center would think. He's so tiny. Linda in Kansas
I like to read the updates.

I think #75 may be eating caterpillars or other similar larval type of meat source. S/He is certainly enjoying it! Why move on when you have a five star residence? YAM xx
Fred is too cute.
Maybe he was eating some kind of bug he saw there.
Everything s looking lovely in your world. I adore bleeding hearts. One of my plants didn't make t this year but they so remind me of my gran!
I'm really surprised that the squirrel didn't take off for distant places.
Roughage for the digestive system:) Nice Pussytoes and Lilacs:)
Pussytoes! You have quite a few. I think they are so lovely, the ones I found were in the meadow east of us competing with tall grasses.
Looks like a busy week for you!
