Yes, home is where the heart is. Travel isn't any fun for many.
🛬 U.S. travel: a Canadian reports:
I knew a storm was coming on Wednesday. Joe was off to shop. I decided to make a sandwich, then hustle out, and do the lawn. That was my mistake. The radar was wrong. As I ventured outside, the rain drops began. Weeds and grass were getting shaggy, and very long over the septic bed. You know how that goes! "The grass is always greener over the septic tank!"
I did a quick job, as the rain poured down! I was soaking wet and had to have a shower to warm up. The daffodil garden is looking good. I planted two new plants here. We'll see if they survive, although I can see leaf buds. I've had high hopes. I don't know if this is the garden you meant, Mary G!
That storm was amazing. It's easy when you have a roof over your head. We are always grateful. Sadly, there must be some debris in the eaves at the end. Again. I'll have to get the ladder out and get up there.
In the meantime, Aster had her 15th birthday. They posted photos for us on the family photostream. We'll see her Sunday, and have decided that this year is the year for cash! We sent money to our grandkids out west. They turned 7 and 10 in April and May. It's a busy month for birthdays. It's just too difficult to find just the thing, especially since we are so far removed from them. Then there are the teenagers!

Ach, I hate debris in the gutters!
We went to $$ for gifts as soon as the gifts were so hard to figure out for the kids.
Now we only have one little one in our family the rest are teens to grown up grands!
Happy birthday to Aster! Take care, have a great day and a happy Mother's Day weekend.
Cash is always acceptable as a gift. Cute collage of the kids! Good for you up the ladder and taking photos even!
I would have no interest in setting foot inside the US these days. Who ever thought that friendly America would ever become like this.
It's great that you were prepared. Thank you so much for sharing.
All of the storms seemed to have missed us. It is really nice out today.
I am so sick of storms and weather. I applaud your excellent work in those conditions!
You are so brave to climb the ladder and clean out the leaves. Can you get that protective strong steel? plastic? mesh that fits in the gutter and stops rubbish and leaves clogging it up? Gutter Guard is one name for it. It clips on top or slots in.
Happy Birthday.
I stopped flying when TSA started the crazy invasive searches. So many people complain on social media about being searched and fondled, it's out of hand and no one in power cares. This has been going on for years and I refuse to ever fly again.
I forget where, but read something the other day about the idea many have that you must travel and see the world or you haven't lived. It was to the effect that taking the same pictures that all the other tourists are taking -- what's the big deal?
A bit off topic. As for travelling to the U.S., we won't be, but then we don't have the urge to travel anyway so it's no loss for us. We're where we want to be.
Well done on the gutter clean out. Not a job I can manage now. Gutter guard helps though.
Uh, crabby nurse here wants to suggest hiring out the gutter cleaning. Elderling bodies don't bounce well when they fall. Even a cheap mesh thingie would keep most of the blockages away. Linda in Kansas
the weather doesn't ask for permission so it rains when it wants to.
