Green Crumbly Acres

Our PM is meeting the US president today. PM Carney landed and was good to go.

Andrews Air Base

This after war was declared on the film industry, here in 'Hollywood North.

' Now, you know I relax watching 🎥.TV Movies. I track where they are filmed. I found 316/567 were filmed in Canadian locations. There are many reasons for this. Many based on budgets, location, and film tax credits. It's Win-Win. They say foreign films present a 'national security threat.' The US president said we've 'stolen the film industry!'  OMG! According to the ED of ACTRA Toronto about 239,000 Canadians work in the film industry. About 50% are foreign films.

Films are an $11 BILLION industry in Canada.

What it boils down to is cost. This is why North America outsources manufacturing in many industries. It is discouraging.

OK, back to nature.

I'd forgotten I'd taken a photo of Batty, a brown bat I found sleeping in the window. This is just as it was set on the railing. It flew off. They are pretty little things. At risk with habitat loss and disease, like White Nose Syndrome.

No kidlets to play in our pool anymore. If this doesn't work, it's off to the dump.

My Lenten Lily.

My cement bird bath has a bit of a tilt to it. That's a job for another day!

I heard bullfrogs croaking on the frog pond.

Everything has suddenly popped green. We had 7 mm rain last night, and it is a beautiful pop of colour after the brown, and snowy white winter.

Hooray Spring!

Beautiful views of your garden, flowers and I like the cute frog.
Most businesses moved out of the USA so they would not have to pay the workers fair wages and benefits. They were after the profits. It would take years to start up these businesses again here in the states. Take care, have a great day!

The whole movie thing will be hard to track and I suspect may well fall through. It's too hard to define. Even if you are an American film company, sometimes you must film overseas to get the right terrain. They could best bring filming home by allowing generous film incentives to companies -- but that would probably be a state thing. Every time he opens his mouth, stupid falls out.

I can't wait to read what the press has to say about the two leaders meeting.

No bullfrogs here yet but I hear two distinct trilling voices in the pond across the road.

Oh yes, the place is flourishing! Same here. Temps are soaring this week. I fully expect it to all collapse soon enough, but I'll take what I can get! YAM xx

Lovely to see that green, and flowers already blooming, spring bulbs I am guessing. Everything has its day, and the pool may have had its final outing.

Beautiful photos, Jenn. I don't know why, but I have always loved and been fascinated by bats. The greens in your photos are so serene and welcoming.

I saw the first bats of the warmer season flying around last week when it was warmer at sundown. They are usually out around the big lights in the parking lot eating the bugs attracted to the lights. They are so cute.

I love this very short time of year when the whole world looks as if a gardener has groomed it and the birds are singing their hearts out. I know the song is a territorial warning, but so, so lovely. My daffs are also in full cry. And little white furls are showing on the top of the stems of the trillia. Of course, this means little black spots will attack every inch of uncovered flesh. But it is worth it, for the green.

I would love to see a closer shot of your spring bulb bed - if you had one earlier, I missed it. Glad the little bat was set free - may it eat many mosquitoes for your comfort.
I thought Carney did pretty well.
