Trip to Ottawa!

We had a lovely time in Ottawa for Mother's Day! It's a difficult day for some. This one was great! We drove in to the city. Aster and Jordan greeted us!

Caitlin and Jean-Luc had prepared an extensive brunch!

I'd brought things for everyone. Aster just had her 15th birthday, so there was a card with cash. Jean-Luc's is in June when they are away. We had liquorish and a tea towel that said, "Too old for Snap Chat, too young for Life Alert!" Something for Caitlin for Mother's Day: Lavender soap and lotion. Jordan got some chocolate! Caitlin gifted me a hanging basket. I shall take a photo anon.

I made a point of doing selfies with them.

Aster played guitar, while Caitlin gave me some tutoring on their TV system! The kids are going away for their 20th anniversary for two weeks. The other gramma will be there for the first week. I'll be there for the second, which seems quite fair for me.

Here we are in the city. A new build. These are the places Joe couldn't look at well as he was driving.

This is a newish one:

The tulips and daffodils smile in the sun.

As we left, I took photos of the lovely trees. Oooh, that reminds me to check Maggie Magnolia tree. (I still forgot!) Our trees are leafing out, and we have evergreens to block the sights, smells and sounds of the highway.

It's amazing how quickly we end up in farm country.

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Or dust! People were madly passing the farmer.

I plan on sketching this farmhouse.

Closer to home, I love this place. It has a fountain, and little bridge. Not in the photos were people sitting around in the sunshine.

The land is really wet, for now. The geese and ducks seemed OK with is.

A very memorable gathering for Mothers and all! Yes, ducks and geese are probably busy getting ready to parent this year's flocks.
