Fred Groundhog has been a challenge. We adore him. These are last year's photos.
I caught him in the act, in 2023, eating the pansies Emily was holding.
This is the camera on the wrong setting. He is so fast, running to the shed.
Fred has a series of burrows. Some I have blocked, like #1 under the propane tanks. (What could go wrong?!) #3 is under the deck and has water due to snow melt.
Last year Fred dug out under the shed (location #2). I've since stacked the wood we had cut up from dead fall.
Last year vs. this year!
He's been chewing on the pallet.
There are 4 entrances and/or exits under the deck. (Location #3)
Ontario still has about 280,000 homes without hydro. Broken trees on the wires, and brought down by ice.

Groundhogs/Woodchucks can end up being an issue. They sure can be a pain!
I'm trying to trap the ones that live in my shed and move them to another place.
Thanks for Fred update! So Ms. Maintenance has another storm to (not) look forward to. I hope the linemen can catch up with all the damages so folks don't have to throw away their refrigerated aand frozen foods...like I did after 4 days following our big one last fall.
I guess (looking at the bright side) figuring out how to thwart Fred's burrowing is good brain exercise :-)
What a critter! I wouldn’t want Fred loose in a subdivision.
Fred has made himself quite at home there. I too would be okay with him living there as long as he was not doing any damage.

If only Fred/ina were'nt so darned cutesome....... hope that ice prediction proves false. YAM xx
Fred is a busy guy!
Fred is terribly cute laying all flattened out on the deck. He's a bit of a rascal tho! Oh I hope your upcoming storm isn't too awful.
This winter has become a horror for many people.
Fred the groundhog is so cute. Oh my goodness.
Fred is a busy little fella and just as cute as can be...His cuteness does somewhat excuse the things he does...RIGHT?
Cute photos of Fred the groundhog. I have not seen one lately in our yard. I hope the storm misses you! Take care, enjoy your day!
Fred is super cute.
I hope the ice storm passes quickly and gently.
Adventures with Fred! It sounds like a delightful kids' book! Looks like we're both dealing with ice and more ice (but ours is up north so OK here.) Good luck.
You've had lots to keep you busy with weather related issues. And then following Fred around takes time.
