We awoke to a snow storm Tuesday. It was rather depressing. Between politics, measles infections, tariffs, our Canadian election, the cold (-10 ℃ today, Wednesday), and a blizzard.
To quote a friend in Muskoka, who is 10 days without power, "Yes, a 'first world problem,' since I have a generator." Life is difficult enough without that.
There were 35,631 without power Tuesday morning.
Fred Groundhog is having a blast. He's so skinny compared to last August. I haven't seen him since the snow fell. He's a fair weather browser. April 7th:
April 8th
My To Do List was to fill the bird feeders, empty the water barrels, shovel the walk, put laundry in the dryer.
I refused to do the driveway. We expect rain at the end of the week. We had 8 cm snow. It's been so warm that the driveway melted, eventually.
I shovelled a path, since I was draining the water barrel. Later, the driveway totally melted. Whew! We still have snow cover.
There was something oddly satisfying about this.
Two water barrels drained. I don't think we'll need a supplemental water supply soon. Our well pump should be fine. 🤞

This is not the time of year to shovel driveways if you can help it. Ten days without power. Good thing they have a generator.
This is spring?

Oh it is good to see Fred(ina) out and about... getting of with the simple task of existing. We humans have overburdened ourselves, eh? YAM xx
Fred will soon be fattening up, he's a cute little guy. I'm glad you have a generator, 10 days is too long without power!
I'm so ready for all this winter weather to stop. It's time to let go!
You definitely still had snow. More than I have ever seen in my city. Your winter is still hanging around, as is our summer.
It's crazy seeing all that snow when it's hot here today.
Lots going on around your place...is this the only groundhog around your place..He is so cute!! Looks like there is a lot to do when you have snow as often as you all do. I love the snow, but I'm probably too lazy to have to do the chores that come along with it. Glad you have a generator.
Snow like that must get depressing after a while.
Winter just doesn't want to end! We let our last batch just melt also but still have snow in shady spots.
I was 5 days without power ad did NOT have a generator. You certainly have your plate full right now. At least you didn't have to shovel snow.
It is cold here but we are only getting rain, which is needed.
Nice to see Fred! Take care, have a happy day!
Having a water barrel might be handy for here. I could water my plant near the house with it instead of stretching out a long hose from the water hydrant.
Glad you didn't get MORE snow!
