It feels like spring is slow to arrive. I suppose the snow storms make us feel this way. This morning it is below zero. It has slowed down the reptiles and amphibians. The birds, not so much.
It is mating season for a lot of critters. For deer, who were impregnated in late fall, they are waiting to give birth. There were three of them sitting chewing their cud. This is out the bathroom window.
They have pink head due to mating season hormones!
Turkey in snow
Osprey can be difficult to photograph. Soaring up above. My reaction times are slow methinks.
This one landed on a tree in my yard. Rather unusual. It pooped in front of me. Silly thing.
It is easier getting photos of nests.

We were out looking for chorus frogs last week. The osprey seemed to think me a threat! They eat fish and snakes and such. Not people. I was still intimidated!
We anticipate a high of 14℃ today. The Chorus Frogs should be calling, as well as Spring Peepers. We shall see what happens.

It's slow here, too. I looked back at last year -- April 8 or 9 -- whenever the eclipse was -- we were sitting outside in t-shirts to watch, eating outside. I'm still wearing my puffer jacket a good deal of the time. Just when it starts to warm up the reports say "expect dropping temperatures!"
I see that we had frost overnight, but I am happy to learn that it will go up to 14 today.
Brrr, that's still really cold. When do the baby deer usually arrive?
We are hoping for a warm week coming up.
I like the turkeys and the Osprey images.
Take care, have a great day and happy week!
Gosh you're still so cold there. It's warming up here alot. Labbit is so cute.
Love your critters. Our autumn is slower than usual too.
