We have teeny critters, medium sized ones, and larger friends.
This is Dratted Red Squirrel (DRS), and I thought this was an artsy video, with the sun shining.
Daisy, a cat we used to have. did classic bear.
This is one of my favourite photos of him. If you click on it and zoom in, you can see the daffodils leaves in his mouth. Labbit eats the same way, taking one end in its mouth, and chewing it up like spaghetti.
By August, Fred has 'carbo loaded.' OK, not carbs, but greens. That all he eats above ground.
The snow is probably half what I have shovelled off the back deck. It is piling up!
Since I put a feeder out the back door, Juncos, mice, DRS and Labbit are finding it.
We call this 'doing bear' when they rise on their hind legs the way we see bears stand.
As I walked up the driveway to fetch mail, the deer were in the backyard.
Labbit did 'bear' out back the other day.
As did DRS!
Lots of our critters do this. Bears do this, of course.
Cinnamon keeping his eye on DRS, I think, standing on the front deck bench.
Then there is Fred Groundhog. There are many predators about. More so in summer. He's sleeping the winter away. He does bear all the time. (Labbit is staying in his burrows for the time being.)
This is Fred in June. He slims down during his winter slumbers. He eats like mad all summer, then disappears. Fred goes to his winter burrow in early September and comes back in late March-ish.
I shall look forward to seeing him in spring! Labbit disappears, of course.

Your groundhog has a great personality!
Great variety of critters. My favorites are the bunnies, the bear and deer! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Unbearably cute

Simply adorable! YAM xx
So many little critters doing bear watch. Not many deer will do that, they're "out of here" at a whim. Then there's the cat's that open their mouths to smell better something that's faint. I only saw that a very few times.
What a delightful glimpse into the wildlife on Crumbly Acres! Your descriptions of the critters are both charming and entertaining, especially the playful “doing bear” moments. It sounds like you have quite the lively cast of characters in your backyard! Fred Groundhog and DRS sound like such fun to observe. Thanks for sharing these wonderful moments from your property! I’d love for you to check out my new post!
I love it when cats sit up (or any animal, for that matter). I make Lizzie do it for every meal and most times, it's without a fuss!
Haha, Fred's big tummy made me laugh. He certainly eats his fill!
The groundhog is so cute. I love all the pictures, that bear is cute too. Loved watching the videos.
DRS can do so much damage in such a little time.
Lots of cute little friends! So funny to capture them all doing 'the bear!'
I always wonder about what goes through people's yards that they have no idea about. You get so many interesting critters.
How amazing for cinnamon and for you! And for us of course. Thanks for sharing these. Aloha, Jenn
Lovely to see so many critters.
All the best Jan
Love all your upright animal pictures! Have you found any antlers yet? Ours dropped all their antlers back home.
