We took a chance, and headed out for dinner, hoping for a waterside view.
The trick is to navigate the parking lot! It looked somewhat empty, which boded well for a waterside table. This is my summer dream, to eat beside the water.
The problem is that they have a new sponsorship program whereby a company can now reserve tables on the patio. This has never been done before. It means we cannot be seated at particular tables if they are reserved by the sponsors, family or friends.

What a wonderful water-side place to eat. I hope you enjoyed the food as well as the scenery! Yay for grands in the big Outback. It's so faaaaar away!
...Sydney is a special place, I wish that it wasn't so far away.
What’s going on? The last post that I read was also about dinner by the water on the patio.
I'm glad that you got a table by the water. That seems like a strange system they have with the tables reserved all summer. I would think they would lose money if none of the sponsors turned up and they had no one sitting at those tables.
That looks like a great spot for dining out. Thanks for sharing those views.
Your last picture is the most stunning: those girls are little women now! Linda in Kansas
I love both your views, and those of the kids.
I am exhausted just looking at their schedule !!! Lovely water views for your meal.Just the thought is enticing .
Well, that’s different about reserving tables on the patio. Haven't come across that down here, yet! Beautiful scenery! Those geese are cute! Enjoyed the photos from Australia also. What an amazing trip they must be having.
You got lucky and chose the right time for dinner.
Glad you got to live your dream and that the kids are safe and Australia.. Aloha!
Eating waterside is always something special -- we love it. I wanted to say I like your new blog design and name (although it is awfully modest for those acres, where you have more amazing wildlife than some national parks!)
Quite a thing to see Australia.
