Day Trip: cranes, heron, otter, ducks

We took a drive on Wednesday, Aug. 24th, and I yelled, 'Stop, Stop. Stop!' A pair of Sandhill cranes!

The heron was a bit shy. Thankfully, I have archival photos!

The water levels are so low in southern Ontario.

I love this spot. There were many ducks, a green heron, and a bullfrog!

There was a river otter, barking at us!

Nice photos of the cranes and waterfowl. I joined you in that exhaustive search for the otter. Never did see it until the very end! Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog!

I didn't think there were sandhill cranes in these parts!

Great sightings Jenn. I love Sandhills -- they are so big it always surprises me even though we've seen them a few times now. And the river otter is just wonderful!
