Before I left, I had to come up with a way to water my potted plant. I invented an irrigation system.
I was invited to Toronto to participate on a Citizen's Panel on Drug Research (ODPRN). This was for Friday/Saturday. We spent some time touring around Toronto. This was Thursday, August 4th. We walked around inner city Toronto, where I grew up. Our hotel location on Bay required that I pass through Dundas Square to get to the meeting location at St. Mike's Hospital.
On Friday, we took a Hop On Hop Off bus tour. It was interesting. There was also a wee boat cruise around the Toronto Islands Harbour. In order for hubby to see the photos, I'm going to do some posts on our tours.
The trip to and from was 871 km,
The meeting was Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and then Saturday, from 8:30 - 3:30. Hubby trucked around on foot, and went to the ROM and amused himself.
My favourite Toronto building!! |
great mural on our HOHO tour |
Saturday, I scooted back to the hotel, we grabbed the preloaded car, and drove up to Gravenhurst, where our hotel suite awaited. I wrote a post comparing the two hotels!
Sunday, we took a trip to the cemetery, a trip to Bala, and then Rosseau, for lunch. Back to the hotel for dinner, hubby's tummy wasn't great.
Monday, on the way home, we bought lunch in Bancroft, and then found Sand Lake park to stop for lunch. We decided to go home early. I'd had enough traveling down memory lane.
As you can imagine, I have several hundred photos to wade through, as well as laundry, gardens to water (we are still in a drought), and catch up on my blogging responses.

Looking forward to much more after this teaser!!! I can well see why you love that building... I like the cropped look... YAM xx
I approve of your route, avoiding the 401.
The new haircut becomes you perfectly.
Toronto is considered one of the most wonderful cities in the world, so I can imagine how you and hubby enjoed your trip to this place.
I'm sure your contribution to the panel's discussion on drugs was substantial.
That was quite a trip, looking at the map.
It's always nice to get back to some professional experience. You learn so much when prepping for a presentation. And knowing you , you made it into an interesting tour.
Such memories! Lived there 3 years in the early 70's, where we met. Wouldn't want to drive into town now, but the pictures brought back great times. We're watering our garden here like mad too. Things are SO dry!
I do like your map showing route and places along the way. A beautiful old building. Love that new hair cut too.
I love that building too! The name escapes me at the moment.
