I would have guessed the pictures were reversed. When I grew up in LA, December was colder than March. By March, local strawberries were ripe and available in stands next to the fields. - Margy

Couldn't recognize the bird butt until I enlarged the photo. It seems Yam recognized it right away. Amazing differences between the two sets of photos, Jenn. K

It doesn't matter what time , it's always a good time to go birding. Swans are always a treat to find.
Swans lack their usual dignity and look rather comical while dipping into the water for a treat!
whenever I see a bird standing on the ice I am always worried they'll get stuck? No idea why but I do.

There's quite a difference, although both seasons at the lake have their charms.
