Snowy wetland walk

The kids came over for an overnighter Thursday. In the morning, after we eased into the day, Mommy convinced us to go for a walk outside. I thought it would be a good day to post photos on Family Day, 2015, in Ontario! Hubby's gone off to deliver Meals on Wheels. I have the house to myself!

Do you have Family day where you are?!

First up, was a discussion about the frozen goldfish pond. The girls contemplated it, the frozen fish, and what they might be doing!
Isabelle wanted to lead the way, and lead, she did. Sliding down the hill, and back up the hill. We were following the deer tracks. They've made a substantial path. Mommy (M.Sc. hydrogeology), AKA Rock Girl, spotted a large rock. Isabelle insisted on climbing it. Josephine had stayed behind in the backyard tree house. We found a nest in the tree, in the last photo.

What fun, no need for sophisticated expensive toys, nature with Mum and Gran and Gramps is the best, well, when he gets home after MOW deliveries. Take care as that huge storm comes down, or will it be further North from you.

Happy Family Day, Jenn.

The kids look quite bundled up!

It's a weird holiday- I noticed a lot of federal public service people are working today.

Lovely cold day -- the girls look adorable all bundled up. So sweet. I haven't heard of an "official" Family Day. I try to have as many unofficial ones as I can when we're in Oregon.
