LUCK = preparation meets opportunity!
Hubby has been seriously into the curling tournament. He's got cheat sheets and matrices of who plays whom, the results, and it is a wonderful time for him to watch a game he has never played!
I took off for a nice, Sunday afternoon drive.
I love watching the Goldeneye dive, except it is bitterly cold. We've had -20 C. temperatures for a couple of weeks.
Love watching them in action!

I think I need to clean my lens!
The reason I went to Appleton is because we had a reporting of Bohemian waxwings there. This would be a good spot for them! No birds about, though! Sweet berries, though.

Jennifer, these lovely ducks are Goldeneye. Great shots of them. Have a lovely weekend.
love the flock you did get to see, though!
Beautiful photos! We've had a mild winter with very few seriously cold days. We only had a couple of days after Christmas with -20 C.
Wonderful series of beautiful nature shots!
Happy Weekend to you,

ps. I would like a 'bobcat' too!
Lovely shots of the Goldeneye. Love watching them displaying.
Wonderful action shots.
Wonderful photos!
The goldeneyes are quite pretty!
You saw some good birds anyway and a drive is a good thing sometimes whether you see what you went for or not. Your videos always make me want to learn how to do that.
They dive like ballerinas in the water, and red berries, gorgeous deep colour. So glad you had an outing, with Mr J home watching curling, does he have a favourite team?
I enjoy watching the Common Goldeneyes too. ;)
