Trees and travellers

We all travel the milky way together, trees and men ... trees are travellers, in the ordinary sense. They make journeys, not very extensive ones, it is true: but our own little comes and goes are only little more than tree-wavings -- many of them not so much.
~John Muir, naturalist, explorer, and writer (1838-1914)

With our recent storms, trees have been losing limbs, and some have broken in the sudden winds with thunder storms. It is so sad to see a tree that has lived fifty or more years just sheer off like that. - Margy

Jennifer, not so long ago I saw on TV that a whole forest sank into an enormous hole in the earth, due to mining overthere. It was a terrifying sight.

There's theory that trees talk to one another and that families of trees look after one another. I found this interesting.
