There is nothing better than the sound of water. A few posts ago, I featured the Tay River in Perth. This past week it was Almonte and its Riverwalk by the old mill.
With overnight temperatures of -25 C., the ice covers the foliage.
Almonte, Ontario, is a former mill town located in Lanark County, in the eastern portion of Ontario, Canada. Formerly a separate municipality, Almonte is now a ward of the town of Mississippi Mills.
This day, whilst visiting Almonte, I made a video after a visit for lunch at Cafe Postino. The sound of the rushing water...

This is what good Canadians do: dress up and go outside an play! The sound of a flowing river, icicles, this is Canada! Almonte, in Mississippi Mills.

Wow, the ice built up in the river is amazing. Cool photos.
What gorgeous ice covering everything!!
Well, you did two things . You went out for lunch and into the fresh air. Yes, rushing water in the winter will catch your attention.
amazing wintry river!
There's something about rushing water that draws me too.... so long as it's not a flood. I guess it's the power of it all.
