The first storm hit Wednesday morning. Hydro One said Wednesday morning nearly 24,000 customers were without electricity, including more than 10,000 from Wiarton to Kincardine and east to Dundalk.
The storm cut power to thousands of homes and businesses in southwestern and southern Ontario early Wednesday.

Two fronts came by us |
According to Hydro One, at 9:30 p.m. June 8th:
- 30,000 customers without power in Peterborough
- 40,000 customers without power in Tweed, Bancroft
- 25,000 customers without power in Orillia, Muskoka
Another 6,800 homes and businesses in the Guelph area were also affected.
In Orléans (east of Ottawa) several roads were flooded and manhole covers came off the road due to the forces of the water coming up through the drainage system.
In Muskoka's cottage country, Moon River Road, in Bala, is cut-off by downed trees. Acton Island was similarly hit. Many trees are down and all you can hear is the sound of generators!
Happy kids in many areas, with schools closed due to lack of power. Nice day for it! I pity the teachers trying to keep on teaching in June. Not like a Snow Day!
Bank Street was closed due to a sink hole, reopened today, Thursday. This is a major street in downtown Ottawa!

Such a shame. It blew in rather quickly, with a temperature drop here in Perth, Ontario, of 10 C. over the course of an hour.
