What a grand day for it! A BBQ, Strawberry Social, and Voyageur Canoe rides!

BBQ: Hamburgers and hot dogs!

There were  two trips out at 11 and 1:00.

Hubby sold raffle tickets - win a canoe!
This is the quiet before the storm, setting up tents and tables.

We raised some money for Friends of Murphys Point Park, and had a good time volunteering, with some good and kind people who are similarly kind to flora and fauna.
I was in charge of the cash box!

Festival of the Maples, Perth, Ontario, 2012

Despite it being a bad year for syrup, it was a wonderful festival. Last year was warmer, but still sunny!
Big crowds. Sunny, if cold, day.
Friends of Murphy's Point Park had a great display. Lots of interested children.

The beaver pelt is the most amazing. Turtle shell, mink skull, snake skin, and snapping turtle skull.


Alida, a newer park interpreter, is fabulous with young kids and her artifacts.


Linda, a high school math teacher, excels at working with the young kids!


Face painting, volunteer firefighters, police equipment, Sparky,  sheep shearing, antique cars, young people having fun (not needing rescue), pony ride, clowns making balloon animals, dancing to the music of the Nepean Panharmonic Steel Band.


Despite it being a bad year for syrup and sap, the place was packed. Gore street is shut down and we have visitors galore. You may well ask: I hoisted my camera over my head and hoped for the best!
