Cats, deer friends

Annabelle helped me to wash the floor mats. They were grungy.

Then we went for a play. She liked the wind and sunshine, high atop the wood pile.

In the garden, bulbs are beginning to pop up, way too soon.
I made the mistake of trying to fix the flag, just before the afternoon brought horrendous winds. Fail. I'll wait until they cease. There are three rebar dowels that keep it in place. I remove two of them, and it pivots, but it is very heavy.

The leaves, liberated from the heavy snow, are now flying hither and yon. They have landed in the goldfish pond. We have a pine siskin. Just one!

Daisy was tired. She was happy to sit in the sunshine.

The wetland is, indeed, wet. However, a few days later it is -20 C. this morning, and it is frozen!

Tigger was back for a munch. Pickle Stabber came with him. Pickles hasn't lost his antlers, which is surprising. The males hang out together in winter.

There is more to life than increasing its speed.

A buck was killed on the highway, at the curve. It was so sad. I heard it, I was down at the frog pond.  The debris filed was long. I wish people would slow down. We've lost two cats here, as well as two porcupines, two raccoons kits, a beaver, a gopher, several deer, and two turtles. It's Roadkill Curve.
Three men stopped, prior to the police arriving. They hauled the carcass off of the centre of the road. I asked them to put him in the ditch for the coyotes, but they refused. They said someone will take the meat. I wanted to keep the coyotes happy.
Two township workers took him away.

It's harsh, but at least there is some benefit out of the carnage. Love these little glimpses into your world! YAM xx (who can't see a thing for the fog and rain today...)

Wonderful photos Jenn, I especially like the one of Daisy soaking up the sun.
So sad about the deer. People do drive way too fast!
Enjoy your Saturday!

There is something about a cat helping!!! Sorry about the road accident, but maybe no time to stop or swerve. And the wetland, looking all frozen again.

Daisy looks quite pretty in the sun. I wonder what Annabelle's thinking with her paws up at the open car door.

Hello, it is so nice of Annabelle to help you. Love the kitties and the deer. Sad to see the deer along the road :(

Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!

Such a disastrous road you have. All those poor animals killed because of speeding. We have a similalrly dangerous road around here - one of the worst in the country. And still people speed despite many warning signs. Like you, I can't see any harm in letting the coyotes have the roadkill.

Stay safe.
