Grandsitting March Madness Day 1

What fun!

We arranged to meet our daughter halfway between our home and theirs. Hubby called this the 'prisoner exchange!' I had made them a book about their Papa's recent trip. He took Mr. Rabbit and Hootie along. That was fun. They read them on the way home.

The fields are frozen with the recent meltwater. Most of our snow is gone.

Home again, jiggety jig. We unpacked. Then we read some more! Afternoon snack: cashews, dates, raisins.

Grampa had bought us lasagna and a veggie tray for dinner. As well as baby cupcakes for dessert.
Then, it was teeth and jammies.

Grampa bought himself a special hat for the week. I made a book for Papa for his birthday. It's not until June, but Josee took a quick look at it! (Sssshhhh! Don't tell him! He doesn't read my blog!)

Izzy went to bed in good time, hooray for daylight savings! I figured out a new GRAMMA STORY for Nebuchadnezzar. He and Izzy flew back in time to meet Papa in London! Papa had taken a trip and took Mr. Rabbit & Hootie along for fun.
Papa took Mr. Rabbit & Hootie
on a trip around the world.
This is what fathers do!

I asked for help once Isabelle was asleep, as Nebuchadnezzar ended up in London, with Papa. I wasn't sure how the story would work out the next night. Grampa and Jos both suggested that since he was a magic rainbow pegasus, he could fly back in time. Aha!
Nebuchadnezzar
I commissioned this for their book.

Jos, Grampa and I watched Jeopardy together. It was funny. One answer had two clues: a) wife of Napoleon, b) only married two years till he went to war!  JOSEPHINE! She was delighted!

Also, we started watching The Voice. I see it as a free concert. I said she could stay up until 9:00 p.m.. By 8:55 they went to a commercial, I said, "How about we stop here? You can go to bed, and watch the rest in the morning."  She said, "No, not yet, it's only 8:55. "

Grampa said, "You can tell you are the granddaughter of an accountant and the daughter of an engineer!"
I pointed out that if we stopped at exactly 9:00, she'd miss seeing if the person got onto the show! She said, "Good point!" (I have three kids, three grandkids and three degrees in people!)
It was funny and fun!

Two big memories triggered by your grand-experiences here; being driven half way to Scotland to meet up with an uncle who took the rest of the way North for summer holidays with the gramps ... and that point in life when one is shifting from absolute childhood into pre-puberty and that extra few minutes before bed seem very important indeed!!! &*> YAM xx

To be exact must be very important. What delightful reading, hope you are saving all these stories for the next generation.Stay warm, maybe the huge snow is a little further north. Our mornings are getting colder. 4Celsius today. That is quite cool for March in NZ.
