The kids are settling in to school. It is a poignant time of year for me. I used to have nightmares the night before, then ones where I cannot find my classroom, or my day book!
I put out the garbage Monday morning.
Joe brought back the cans. That was the exciting beginning to our September!
Jordan and Aster had a last kick at the can before school.
I had a great chat with Aster! She showed me the book cover she made with a kit from Lee Valley. She's been doing carving, as well.
Jordan has settled in to his new room. He shares a bathroom with another student. This is a good plan, I think.
In British Columbia, there were sweet phone calls to wish the young 'uns a good school year. They've had a wonderful summer of berry picking and ice cream!
They celebrated back to school, as well!
And the school year begins!

...our granddaughters are excited to be back in school too.
It is always nice to see the kids getting settled in to their new year of school.. I see some happy smiles on their faces which most likely means they are excited for their new year. Prayers for each of their saftey...
I am not sure if I had nightmares the night before, but I have had nightmares of the first day back when I was totally unprepared and didn’t know where I was going or what I was doing.
Such a special season ✨ I love reading about Aster’s creativity and Jordan making his room his own. So nice that you all marked the start of the school year together 🌿
I took my garbage out today...heard the beep beep of a truck backing up, and gathered it all together only to find it hadn't arrived yet. But it's done! Loved seeing your grands as they begin the next year of learning and making friends.

Nothing emphasises the passage of time so much as watching the next generations come up behind us! YAM xx
Summer is over.
What beautiful (and artistic!) grandkids you have :)
School has started back here too. My grandsons are in pre-k now.
Take care, have a great day!
Looks like a comfortable room.
Those kids are amazingly talented. I love the book Aster did and Jordan's room reminds me of my school days! Love the quilt. Big smiles.
I think too often teachers didn't consider the importance of the first day back at school. Since I taught middle school they tended to ignore back to school.
I never slept well the night before school began, but once it did I settled right in. It's a fun time of year.
