Rideau Woodland Ramble

We were looking up events in the area, needing to get outside. I sent Joe to The Humm online, as they have hot links. He tried hum.com, but got a weird site. He's not great at spelling, so I pointed out that there are two Ms in Humm.

He tried humm.ca, but that wasn't it, either. He'd tried humm.com, but he left out the THE. I told him I didn't think I needed to spell THE for him! Try again. He found it, after several 404 messages.

It's easier to look up the events through the calendar. I suggested that the North Frontenac event might be fun, on backroads we haven't visited. It's lovely cottage country.

Next, I pointed out that the Rideau Woodland Ramble looks nice. He couldn't find Rideau Forest on The Humm's page. I pointed out that it was the  'Rideau Woodland', not Forest. Then he asked me if it was the Rideau Rumble Nope. Rideau Ramble! We laughed so hard, we were crying!

The drive there was lovely. The leaves are turning.

It's pumpkin time!
The cormorants were resting on the buoys.

Two times we were passed! First the blue car, who was passed us and the white car passed them at the same time. A nice relaxing drive in the country! 😝
Isn't it pretty?

They have plants on sale, as well this will be one of the stops for a Fall Merrickville Arts Guild Tour

Here you can see David Dunn's art work:
Such a nice setting for a garden centre.

This is the Lake Ramble. You can take a Virtual Tour on Google.

It is terribly dry, but this is the way it looked August.

Here it is in September. You'll have to picture it with the fountain running.

This is the worst thing we’ve ever seen in terms of the drop in the water table,” said owner Dave Dunn, who has been gardening on the property for 45 years.

I have more photos, the ramble in the woods was lovely and peaceful. Tomorrow is critter day, though! Stay tuned.
