This morning I awoke to -1 ℃ on the back deck. We drove to Almonte for lunch about 2:30 last Wednesday, we were in a nice lull. It was quiet on the patio. There were a few flies, but no wasps. Yay! We not only 'skipped the dishes', but we skipped dinner later!
The Almonte Hydro dam was begun, on paper, in 2012. We watched it being built and I created a page for my photos.
You can compare water levels between ↑ Sept. 2025, and May, 2017 ↓.
The bridge dates from the 1800s.
I was impressed with their hanging baskets!

We were almost the only customers. So nice and quiet.

I did drive-by photos in town. Mr. Basketball, Dr. Naismith, was sitting there waiting for a friend to play basketball with him.
I like to imagine the carriages that drove through:

After a nice, relaxing lunch out, we find there was an incident in Almonte! We arrived home safely, though!

Hello,
Pretty photos of the river walk, and the hanging baskets.
A lovely shot of you, the lunch looks delicious.
Have a great day and happy week ahead.
That’s a nice spot. We haven’t done that in ages. It’s brave of you to eat outside right now, but you weren’t bothered by the pests, so all is good. I want those fish and chips.

That all looked rather blissful... we woke to 2'C this morning, a massive drop from the upper teens of the previous day! No doubting the seasonal shift now, and as I drove up to Edinburgh from the Borders this morning, the leaves on the trees shone like candles... YAM xx
And a fine Good Morning to you, Ms Jenn!
It looks perfect on that patio. Hopefully a few more days like that ahead.
you look so beautiful and so do those gorgeous purple flowers. Such a nice area!! Yum to that plate of food..
-1 ℃ on the back deck! Brrr!
Lovely photographs you've shared.
All the best Jan
Sad to see how dry the river is. Oh your food is making me drool! So glad you got to enjoy eating outside !
This looks like a perfectly great outing. What an interesting place.
What an interesting place! We are planning a trip to Ontario next year, so i will have to add this to our list of places to see.
A lovely area and a very nice place to enjoy those delicious looking meals. Good to know you arrived home safely. Did you ever find out what the incident was?
