Digging out after the storm

Everyone made it through the snow and wind!

Olive,
the other reindeer looks like a sheep!

Frosty O'Rourke all dressed up

But look, something in the driveway...
Doesn't it look pretty?

We KNEW we'd get more snow in February!
500 m of highway and they chuck it on our drive.
How far away are we from Wendy's in Perth? About 1 1/2 hamburgers and 1/2 a box of fries. The rest they chucked out of the truck. My regular readers know that I spend hours picking up garbage from the ditches, two or three times a season after the snow flies.

Two supersized orders with fries,
 and they didn't finish, either.

Wendy's Perth at 10:57 p.m.

Usually around Earth Day in April, we'd do a school project.

Look at the Wendy's containers we found.
As a teacher, we would collect schoolyard garbage,
sort it and graph it.
Do you know how many containers I have picked up?
At least a recycling bin, or two, and a bag of garbage, each time I go out. Criminal.

We are getting a good dump of snow here as well. We have lots of wind with it.
The garbage thing bothers me too. We find all kinds of trash in the bush in the spring. I think take out places should pay an extra fee or tax because of the trash they are responsible for.

I like Red's idea.
Good for you, picking it up, Jenn. And what a good school project idea, too.
We get trash in our cul-de-sac, too, but most of it comes in on the wind. All of us here say "ho-hum, the wind again" and pick it up. But the wind must have picked it up from somewhere.

That now looks great. The trash not so much, but kudos on collecting it.

Tim Horton's and Wendy's et al need to reimburse Canada billions of dollars for their garbage. Then you'll find out how quickly the problem abates.Good on you for picking up. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Save the receipt so you can put it in for a business expense to the CRA!!!

Jenn: This is one of my pet peeves, they use to do this with alcohol bottles. They do it now with garbage. This is truly ignorant.

Winter looks beautiful your way. It really annoys the heck out of me when people throw things out their window. WHO do they think will pick it up? It shows such thoughtless stupidity.

It amazes me how filthy some people can be. Didn't their parents teach them to take care of the world around them? Guess not. And sadly, many of the parents are just the same. - Margy

You pick up garbage after the snow melts, which is good. In the north of Russia it freezes 40 degrees below zero and for such a long time that the snow covers more than garbage. Many dead homeless people disappear under a thick layer of it. They will be picked up after the snow melts.
Isn't it horrible?
Thanks for your visit!

Your critterss look quite festive with their "snow coats" - but they do look cold! The trash is not going to go away until people become responsible, and as long as there is no penalty for their irresponsibility, they are not going to change. I promise I will NOT get on my favorite soapbox about responsibility today. Have a wonderful and warm day!

Your snow looks pretty – we have not had any this year. My husband also walks by our road and picks up many tossed containers and bottles. A private Christian high school has been built passed our house and we have seen the garbage increase a lot since. It is good to take kids to pick it up, that is a good teaching tool for not littering.
