Time for relaxation

Yes, much is going on in the world. Flight Radar:

Hurricane Erick on NOAA

News Live

News Live the US has arrived

But there comes a time to turn it all off.

It is so pretty. Not a fave of the deer, thankfully.

Snow-in-summer

I went for a haircut and pedicure. On the way in to the facility, the fragrance of the mock orange was just lovely. Their gardens are spectacular.

It is very relaxing to turn off cell phones and be pampered.

Before:

I know, not much difference, but this is for summer! After:

It was a long afternoon, I wasn't sure I could do it and nearly cancelled, but all went relatively well despite the woman at the desk not checking me in for my pedicure after my haircut. They somehow misplaced me. I chose a hot pink, but I meant to go for a different colour. This caught my eye!

More relaxation, I finished reading a book by Canadian, Eliza Reid. She was the First Lady of Iceland, where she still lives. However, she attended the same high school our kids attended, a couple of years ahead of them.
The setting is Iceland, and it was a great read, learning about another country.
Eliza was doing a book tour and was interviewed by Teddy Wilson, who also attended the school back in the day.

Teddy wrote on Instagram:
Cool + surreal to intvw high school pal (& my trumpet partner in band! 🎺 🎶) the very accomplished & rad @elizajeanreid, on @yourmorning about her new novel - #DeathOnTheIsland! (Already a best seller!!) 📖 📚 📺 💙

You look relaxed, great photos.
I will have to see if I can find the Eliza Reid book.
Take care, have a wonderful week!

Glad to read that you aren't reporting a kicking from the storm. It hit random spots all over E.Ontario. Whew, it was a doozy.

A good sounding book. Beautiful hairs. Oh such fun to be pampered. As I was examining some flowers in a planter outside the Center for the Arts in Black Mountain, a woman came by and joined the discussion, and said she'd just had her hair cut by Joe (right around the corner) and she highly recommended him. All three of us who were in the discussion first had had Joe cut our hair previously...and I really need to get mine shorn again. But it's at the stage where I want to pin it back away from my neck...though maybe a few more weeks... Or I'll make an appointment with Joe!

You work pretty hard around the place, so it was time to pamper yourself a bit.

Eliza Reid was just interviewed on CBC Radio's "The Next Chapter." No, not an interview; she was giving her recommendations for summer reading. I think. I listened to the show while falling asleep.

Iceland is a very pretty country. With globalization, kids attend different schools across the world. I have 4 Nigerian kids near me. I get an education every time I see them. They don't speak much English and I speak no Nigerian.
