Karen asked about our ticks this year. We've had the odd one. Without Daisy to bring them home, we're doing pretty well. She had 200 on her one year.
🏦I had a strange call last night. It came up as our Visa bank number, but I was deeply suspicious. He claimed we had suspicious activity on my card account and asked if I was traveling out of the country. I ended up hanging up saying I'd phone the bank myself. He called back several times and I blocked the number. I called the number on the back of my bank card, as we victims of bank fraud are told to do. They saw nothing suspicious on my card. What confused me is that the call display from the wanna be scammer was the number on the back of my card. I keep checking the banking info online, and nothing suspicious seems to be happening.
The garden is doing well. This is jack-in-the-pulpit. I love it!
Fred continues to amuse us. This is one of the last videos I have of the 4 kits.
Right after this she evacuated them.
I've a funny story about Fred. She's been out, nest building under the deck. There was a noise.

Those are a lot of Jack in the Pulpits! I was surprised by finding quite a few this year in some unexpected places. They are so beautiful. I love their red bunches of seeds in the fall too.
Your ground hog, Fred, looks busy.
Hello,
Fred and family are checking out there territory.
Your yard is their happy place.
I hope you are not being scammed.
Take care, have a wonderful day!
Dog eat dog world...living in a country where all the governments are seemingly eating their own constituents...I get up each day to see who's next. Fred raised some nice fluffy little "dogs".
Oh, I also like Jack in the Pulpit flowers. Fred & her family are providing lots of entertainment for you. :)
I hate the thought of the coyote getting one of the kits. I know -- it's nature. But I hate it.
Must be an exhausted mommy. Linda in Kansas
Someone is always phishing. I had a call about an Amazon delivery form Mexico. As if.
The ticks are sure taking over here.
I'm glad you were savvy with the scammer, can't even trust the number shown anymore. I'm glad Fred's keeping a close eye on the 2 kits!
That is so sad about the little Freds.
So many scammers around.
The numbers being the same would concern me. Your Jack in the Pulpit is wonderful, it is a unusual plant! I used to have one and it winterkilled:(
Hi Jenn, your photos are lovely, thanks for sharing the videos as well. Nature is able to take care of itself and sometimes this means catching a baby animal or sick or disable one.
I saw your comment on AC (Anvil Cloud's) blog and responded to it. This is so true that some Americans came here to Canada to support us and defend our sovereignty. Here in Montreal just about two weeks ago, many people from Vermont came and although I wasn't there, it was shown on the news. I love Vermont, I love the U.S. They feel the same way about us Canadians. Trump is wreaking havoc.
Thank you so much for sharing your photos and videos. :)
The scammers have become really smart and tech savvy. They are able to clone phone numbers so on the caller ID it looks like anything they want it too. One time they called me using my own phone number. lol
...I'd love to have a Jack in the Pulpit or two!
Poor tired Fred.
We often get those calls saying there has been some suspicious activity on our cards. However when they cannot tell us our first names (just the initial) I hang up on them. Sigh. They are getting good. At being bad.
Sad that these critters work so hard and then lose the offspring.
Scammers!! It is so frustrating to have to deal with them...I keep getting emails saying my paypal has been charged a huge amount. I don't even use paypal. Good that you called and good that you hung up. Fred...he is the cutest.. I enjoy watching these videos of him..
I had my Visa card compromised again, third time this year. What I have done, with advice from the bank, is drop the limit on that card, that I use for online purchases, and get a second card that will NOT be used on line or over the phone. That card can have a higher limit. My bank contact was very sympathetic and told me they can hardly keep up with the scammers' innovations.
