The day was done

bliss on the deck
spring-green grass in July
sun sets slowly
wind settles down
poplars lay down their jazz hands
nestled into the night

birds take turns
praising the day that has been
waxwings wax eloquently
robins shredding from trees
jays scream across the tree tops
angry that the day is done
one last song from the sparrow
phoebe performs a last phoe-be
a perfect day

I can see those words around a photo, and print it and frame it and hang on the wall.( Just like the story, "prick it and pat it and mark it with T, and bake in the oven all for me"!!) Lovely photo reflection.
