Cold nights, below 0 C. with a bit of ice on the goldfish pond, but the frogs warm up, sort of. I loved these two snuggling! I'm ready for it to just get cold.
We're up to 190 ticks this week. I want a cold, cold December, to kill some of them off!
In the meantime, I brought some lake weed into the aquarium. They eat it clean. Caitlin, on her way from the city, stopped at the pet store. She brought me some anchors for the weeds. Little metal bits you wrap around the roots. The silly fish rip the weeds it right out of the little plant pot. I tried again. I buried them deeper, and fetched some more lake weed from the goldfish pond. We'll try again!
nicely eaten! |
I've been experimenting with the placement of the trailcam. This buck, with a broken antler, likes his selfies! Not on the trailcam, but just in font, coyote poo!

Such cute frogs and a very good capture! Also really love seeing the dear eating the pumpkin! Now I know what I SHOULD have done with my old pumpkin
love the videos, the girls are always smarter ;)
Hello, I just love the cute frogs. Awesome shots. Nice videos of the deer. Great critter post. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
We had a very abnormal two weeks of warm weather. You must be having the same. It's late for warm stuff.

Pre-winter delights! YAM xx
Beautiful post and lovely videos ~ wow!
Wishing you a gentle weekend ~ ^_^
I know we have ticks out here, but I'm so glad I've never picked one up. The thought of it burrowing into my skin gives me the creeps. Same goes for leeches. Wayne got one stuck on his foot while wading in one of our lakes with the kayak. Now I'm really careful in places with mucky bottoms even if I have my shoes on. - Margy
Those are great pics!
Don't worry, froggies, spring is just a brief hibernation away...

Love the frogs and enjoyed watching the videos.
May I ask what infra red camera you are using? (Thinking of getting one)
It's a whole lotta different today. Brrr.
@Mosura: I have compared my trailcams. I've had three different brands. You can tell by the logo which one I've used. All are best in the daytime!
I guess the deer must like the taste of the pumpkin. I know squirrels go for them.
