| My 'marine' horn |
There are lots of bugs on them. I found a firefly on the back of one leaf. There have been several monarchs.
There are a lot of milkweed bugs that use the plants as a home: Milkweed Tussock Moth caterpillars, Red Milkweed beetle, tree frogs, Red Milkweed caterpillars, Lady beetles, aphids and, of course, their predators: spiders.

The trailcams have been empty for a couple of weeks. I figured I was safe putting out a feeder. Two bears were killed nearby, so I thought Junior Bear was a goner. As I walked through the backyard, I realized that something had been knocking a lot of the milkweed plants over. Now, I'm sure Junior Bear is looking for bugs.
I'm so happy. I made the mistake of putting out the bird feeder, as I thought our bear was gone. The marine horn sort of scared him off. (I carry it with me when I walk in the forest.)
Now I know for sure! He has been scarce, and has learned to hunt in the night and early morning. BLess his little heart!
He's not aggressive, mostly assertive. He's learned to tolerate people in the name of food.
