Here we go again!
We throw #75 (our released, rehabbed squirrel) peanuts, usually under the bird feeder. We feel responsible for him. Never mind that we have at least 3 black ones! He buried one in the garden in the snow. They'd rather hide them away than risk someone else getting them.
The wind was blowing the snow over the roof. A little overhang.
I think a hawk came by, as 27 mourning doves, plus chickadees, blue jays and all, scattered. It's not unusual. This is from Jan. 2, 2021.
It was a heckuva storm. Toronto City Centre had 56 cm, which is a lot for a city property. We had 18 cm on the back deck, 16 on the driveway.

Hello,
Love your snow critters, the deer are always cute!
Take care, enjoy your day!
27 doves is amazing. They really depend on you.
We are still digging out of the snow. I can't get my car down the laneway yet and the city doesn't plow it.
A lot of roads are still snow-crusted over this way.
#75 eating his peanut looks very healthy and happy! The deer with a dusting of snow on their backs, it's all so pretty.
I liked reading this — it really gives a sense of how your morning unfolded. That squirrel hiding his peanut made me smile, and seeing so many birds and deer must have been quite a sight.
I’m with you about snow versus ice/ Thanks for sharing these moments from your day; it was nice to read along. An to see all the pictures.
Although we need much moisture here , I wouldn't want your snow.
I bet Toronto is a mess! But oh, this is so lovely. Even thugh winter is so NOT my season, seeing your images makes me smile. I love your little squirrels. They have such personality and I'm glad you still care for your rehabbed one!
We never see black squirrels here ...always gray!!
It’s great that you have such a diversity of wildlife. My daughter and son-in-law are enjoying their first winter in Maberly and are delighted with their visitors.
