Bird feeders

I have been enjoying the birdies. This was Sunday. A downy woodpecker.

The Dratted Red Squirrel (a fave of the cats) has been chomping down.

The morning dove likes the arrangement.

The tripod really helps. The afternoon sun makes photos tricky. Not to mention the wind blowing the wind sock. (It does seem to help prevent bird strikes.)

Much better shots with the camera on a tripod.

The squirrel managed to get up there. I think it flings itself from the tree, or from the bird bath.

I put out the Wingscape camera. The trick is you have to preset the focus on it. I set it for 4'.

I reset the camera, and managed some close shots.

Mourning dove

After our walk, Cinnamon helped himself to a drink. I realized the winter bird bath needed cleaning.

Squirrels always seem to find a way. There is some snow in the forecast.

It’s so fun to see the wildlife you’ve been capturing! The birds and squirrels must make for some entertaining moments. The tripod and camera setup seem to be working wonders! I just shared a blog post, let me know what you think.

Congrats on focusing on those wildlife critters...as well as the shot including the red-shirted red-booted walkies-photographer!

It seems that squirrels can figure out a way to get onto any bird feeder. They are such athletes.

I can tell you that my wife's concept of interior design does not include a tripod with a camera looking out the window. But I love it.
I love the results of your wingscape camera. Our everpresent wind in Oklahoma really makes getting video a chore. I end up with literally hundreds of them to go through.

We spend a LOT of time watching the birds here. Very different to yours (an no squirrels) but a delight just the same.

We had snow last night, which means it's time to start filling the feeders again. Hopefully, my Downy will return!
