Jos and Grampa stayed at home and read. Isabelle had read about Parrot Partners in the paper with her Mummy and wanted to go see them. Off we went. It is located in Smiths Falls, in the Gallipeau Centre (a *former institution–see below). We were assigned walkies for Melvin, the parrot. We did 800m down to the end of the hallway and back. Isabelle was determined to go all the way there.
The parrots need a change of scenery and for the open house, they asked us to do walkies. Isabelle was quite happy to feed the parrots when we finally got the tour of the pretend rainforest!
She carefully changed sticks for each bird. The birds in the outer room are there for boarding, which is a wonderful service, plus it raises money for this non-profit organization.
Parrot Partner is on Twitter!

It was called the Ontario Hospital School (1951), Rideau Regional Hospital School, Rideau Regional Centre (closed 2009). It held 2650 students at its max.The building has been repurposed. It is huge, you can see by the hallways.
