The OLT Appeal for the gun range has been denied!!! ๐ ๐
Sadly, I've heard he is appealing to a superior court. The Lanarkist published an article.
I don’t agree with OLT’s decision – what can I do?
I saved five years worth of letters from the OPP who would inform us that they would be shooting.
If you are a party, you may request the OLT to review its decision, under the authority of Section 23 of the Ontario Land Tribunal Act. The criteria for review are found in Rule 25 of the Tribunal Rules of Practice and Procedure. In some cases, a party may appeal a decision of the OLT to the Divisional Court, but only on a question of law.
You can read what we went through to prevent this in our backyard. I am so happy. The report is 22 pages long, but this is the crucial bit:

Then, the Responding Party (gun range applicant) makes claims the Planner denies. What happens if you lie to the OLT?
p. 19
[55] In direct contradiction to the Responding Party’s statements, Mr. McGlade confirmed in his Affidavit, sworn on October 5, 2023 (Exhibit 3), that he did not meet with the Responding Party to discuss the requirements of an appeal prior to the submission of the Notice of Appeal, nor did he discuss the adequacy of the Notice of Appeal with the Responding Party.
