Easter is here. We had so much fun when the grandies were young.
I set the table.
The kids arrived Saturday, having picked Jordan up at the train station in Smiths Falls. We had our dinner, and a sleepover.
They have issues with bears, squirrel, and raccoons nipping the lines. They are vigilant. The system relies on reverse osmosis.
A trapper had a display, showing a breached beaver dam.
Skunk, coyote and fisher pelts.
This was the neatest educational display. It shows various skulls. There is a list of names with a button that lights up the correct skull.
As always they have wagon rides. It was pouring rain, sadly, but people had fun.

Nice Easter get-together. We managed in the end, but we were’t sure it would happen. That seems like a good maple outing.

Maple Syrup, the real type, not just the flavoured, is expensive down here, and I understand the cost when I saw the lengthy process. Enjoy your Easter.

Interesting that the snow is gone there. We had the tapping out party at Oliver's one year and had no snow. Of course, the next week we got a whole pasting of the stuff. They make a great product, and often win prizes at the Syrup Festival.
Yes it is. Maybe even better. But if you spend a whole day in the steam from the evaporator, everything tastes and smells like syrup.

Such a bright and pretty Easter table with delicious food and great company. Seeing maple syrup boiling or being harvested is a wish of mine. Guess we'll have to take a winter trip to the east some year.

This looks like so much fun! I never got to have my grands for Easter, or most holidays. The daughters-in-law always took them to their parents, so it has been many years since we had an egg hunt or Easter fun here.
